Acne is a
dermatologic condition that affects millions of people worldwide. It is more
common among teenagers and it is
characterized by whiteheads, blackheads and blemishes. Many adults also have
some degree of. No exact cause have been identified, but hormonal changes
during the teenage years, as well as during pregnancy, may be contributing factors.

Wear sun protective clothes, since some acne medications may increase
the skin's sensitivity
to sunlight.

The general
aim and goals of acne treatment is to prevent or minimize pimples, and to clear
scars off the skin. Treatment must commence early to avoid scar formation.
There are many topical over-the-counter products available for the management
of mild-to-moderate cases of acne. Self treatment is appropriate for mild acne,
and can be easily managed and controlled by following a daily skin-care regimen
highlighted above and avoiding factors that may worsen acne flare-ups.
Several
products are available as medicated cleanser, liquids, lotions, creams, gels
and wipes;each of these products contains at least one of the following
ingredients: Benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, sulphur with resorcinol or
without resorcinol and sulphur with sodium sulfacetamide.Foods that Prevent and

Spinach
Many foods
are rich with phytochemicals that help prevent acne; one of such food is
spinach.
Spinach is
rich in chemicals (vitamin A, chlorophyll etc.), which cleanses bacteria and
toxins from the digestive system and blood stream. Without cleansing of Toxins
and bacteria, they get stored as wastes and this eventually leads to acne.
Cocoa
Dark cocoa
is another powerful anti-acne agent. Though it is lower in antioxidants than
regular cocoa, it is highly alkaline. Dark cocoa fights acne by increasing blood
flow and reduce acid that favour acne. The alkaline property also helps to
fight inflammation.
Salmon
Salmon is
low in mercury, but high in omega 3 fatty acids, protein that boosts collagen
in the skin and it helps fight inflammation. These are the attributes in salmon
that help to beat acne.
Carrot
Carrots are
highly rich in Vitamin A which is present in the form of beta-carotene. It has powerful
effects against acne. Eating carrots regularly with a healthy diet will reduce
acne significantly.
